New Zealand Ski Snowboard Camp
2021 PRE-CAMP DETAILS
Welcome to Core Camp New Zealand..! An off-piste only adventure camp for skiers and snowboarders.
This is a very unique Core Camp trip to the hidden local ski resorts of Arthur’s Pass in NZ. These resorts fly under the radar of most snow riders. They have excellent terrain, no grooming, great off-piste, on-snow accommodation, fully catered, nutcracker rope tows (no-charlifts), uncrowded slopes and no lift queues. A true powder hound paradise! There are roughly 50 per day at these resorts including us.
Please take the step to join us.
This is a very unique, one time camp and we’re really excited to offer it!

NEW ZEALAND VIDEO
1. The Ski Resorts!
The ski resorts are actually called Club Fields in New Zealand. Jordan and I have ridden these club fields in the past (we love them) and we’ve chosen the best three resorts for this adventure. They’re all within 1 hour of each other. As mentioned, these resorts fly under the radar of most snow riders. Excellent terrain, no grooming, great off-piste, uncrowded slopes and no lift queues. The resorts do have ski patrol and avi control (like any resort), but they don’t have groomed runs (no groomers/piste bashers).
2. Nutcracker Rope Tow
The resorts have nutcracker rope tows. video If you can ride a t-bar, then a nutcracker should be fine for you. The legendary nutcracker rope tow is a surface tow unique to New Zealand club ski areas and have many benefits in speed, capacity and simplicity.
Please note — if you’re not quite prepared, using a nutcracker for a while can get a bit tiring for the wrists. We recommend going to a dollar store to pick up a simple wrist strengthening grip. Use this for a couple of weeks before the camp. Not sure what we mean — Please ask.
3. Accommodation
There is only one lodge at each resort and space is limited. The lodges are at the base of each resorts’ lifts (ski-in, ski-out). The accommodations are shared, simple and cozy with a fun family atmosphere. We may have to help with some simple chores (this is normal at the lodges). Breakfasts and dinners are included. Some have licensed bars and you can also BYO.
4. Transportation
- We will be traveling in style in 4WD vans. The longest drive in a day will be two hours.
- Every few days we drive to the next resort (approx. 1 hour to the next resort).
- All of the transportation in the 4WD vans is included.
- Airport transfers are not included, although the airport is 12km from downtown Christchurch
5. Flights
The airport to fly in and out of is Christchurch Airport (CHC). The airport is 12km from downtown.
Arrival time — Please arrive on Saturday, August 28. Try to arrive mid-day (noon to 4pm) if you want to enjoy some evening fun with us. If you arrive later, no problem. You can go straight to our accommodation. You can even arrive a day early on Friday and hang out more with Jordan and Turner.
Departure time — Can be anytime on September 7th.
6. First Night in Christchurch
If you can arrive mid-day (before 4pm) then please join us for our first evening/reunion night. We will all go out for a big group dinner.
7. Visas
For most countries, you simply need a valid passport to visit New Zealand.
Please make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months on your arrival date.
8. What to Pack
Bring all of your regular ski or snowboard gear as you would for Whistler. Some resorts do not have rentals.
Bring a good pair of hiking shoes, towel, headlamp and avi safety gear.
This is a road trip — you’ll need to move your gear around a bit, so try to pack light (if that’s even possible…)
Please limit your gear to one backpack, one ski/snowboard bag and one other bag.
9. Cancellation Policy
Your deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.
A cancellation inside 120 days of the camp start date is not entitled to a refund.
We do not offer refunds after a camp start date.
**For these reasons we HIGHLY recommend that you purchase Trip Interruption / Cancellation Insurance. This will cover the cost of your camp (or deposit) in case you need to unexpectedly cancel or if a medical emergency interrupts your trip. It’s easy to purchase and very good peace of mind.
We recommend World Nomads or check with your local insurance agent. Thank you.
