Traveling to Canada – Full Details

Traveling to Canada – Full Details

Everything you need to know about traveling safely to and from Whistler this winter.

CORE CAMPS IS OPEN FOR THE 2021~2022 WINTER..!
From Sept 7, 2021, Canada’s border is now open for fully vaccinated visitors for recreational travel! It’s going to be a great winter with Core Camps!

Questions about Traveling to Whistler

1 – Could the border close again?
Given the very high vaccination rates in Canada (Whistler in particular is over 90%), the border is expected to remain open. There is much confidence that the Canadian Government will keep the border open for international travelers this winter.
You can book with confidence knowing that in the very unlikely event of the border closing before your camp starts, we can postpone your camp to another time.

2 – Is Whistler a safe destination?
Yes. Whistler is over 90% vaccinated. Even Canadians traveling by air within Canada need to be fully vaccinated. All international travelers need to be fully vaccinated. All Whistler Mountain employees are to be fully vaccinated and most venues only accept fully vaxxed people inside (restaurants, pubs, gyms, spas, ticketed events etc). Fast food, grocery stores and retails shops require masks.

3 – What do I need to enter Canada?
A – Be fully vaccinated with one of Canada’s accepted vaccines or a combination of accepted vaccines:
Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty, Moderna Spikevax, AstraZeneca Vaxzevria/COVISHIELD and Janssen/Johnson & Johnson.
B – Have received your last vaccine dose 14+ days before entering Canada.
C – Upload travel details to the ArriveCAN app

4 – What can I expect while with Core Camps?
We’re skiing and snowboarding outside everyday which is very safe for all. We ride chairlifts and gondolas with our groups only. In the on-mountain restaurants, we dine with our groups only.
In our Rider House – Everyone is required to be fully vaccinated to join our camps and to stay in our housing. Our main house is big and spacious. We do frequent sanitization of bathrooms and common areas. Sanitizing supplies are available in and around the house. Mask wearing is optional.

5 – What to do for returning home?
Many countries do not require a Covid test before returning home. For those who do need a test, we can easily help arrange for a local, mobile testing company to come directly to our rider house or your hotel for your test. Test results are typically ready within 30min to 2 hours later.

Please email me, Turner (Camp owner) with any questions at all – I’m happy to answer them.
